Optional Life
Insurance - Spouse
You can buy optional life
insurance coverage for your spouse in units of $10,000 up to a maximum of $500,000.
The cost of optional life insurance
is paid through payroll deductions. It is determined based on your spouse’s age,
sex and whether or not your spouse is a smoker.
You must provide evidence
of insurability for your spouse for any initial amount and for any amount in
excess of current coverage. Your spouse must then complete and submit the form that
will be presented at the end of the process. Any increase in coverage comes
into effect when the application is approved. Payroll deductions associated to
this increase will also begin at the same time.
