The RHIP is an optional benefit available to
employees that will be age 50 or older before the end of the upcoming
re-enrollment year. Once you join the
RHIP program continuous participation at each re-enrollment is required in
order to be able to contribute in future years.
Contributions are in multiples of $100 with a maximum annual
contribution of $1000, unless you have “Unused Carry Forward RHIP”, in which
case the maximum annual contribution may be up to $2000.
Unused carry forward RHIP is based on the amount that you could have
contributed if you began the program at age 50 minus any RHIP contributions you
have made to date.
For more information on the benefits and features of the RHIP please refer to
the Retirement Health Insurance Program document found in the info tab above.
