Your Basic Critcal Illness Insurance Coverage

 

Please select "Change Covered Dependents" and update your dependent Critical Illness (CI) coverage level based on your current family situation as described below;

  • single – $10,000 CI coverage for yourself only with no dependents or $10,000 CI coverage for yourself and $5,000 for your dependent child(ren)
  • single +1 – $10,000 CI coverage for yourself and $5,000 for your spouse
  • family – $10,000 CI coverage for yourself, $5,000 for your spouse and $5,000 for your dependent child(ren)

CI coverage provides a lump sum payment in the event that you or your eligible dependent(s) are diagnosed with one of the following covered conditions;

  • Heart Attack
  • Coronary Artery
    Bypass Surgery
  • Stroke
  • Invasive Cancer
  • Major Organ Failure
  • Kidney Failure
  • Paralysis
  • Benign Brain Tumour
  • Coma
  • Blindness
  • Deafness
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Aortic Surgery
  • Severe Burns
  • Loss of Speech

Lifemark's CI coverage offers the following benefit conditions;

  • no pre-existing condition clause (excluding prior diagnosis)
  • no benefit waiting paid after diagnosis
  • no survival period and cancer is not required to be life threatening
  • multiple diagnosis are payable (if separated by 90 days)
  • your benefit is fully portable at any age
  • no termination age

The basic CI coverage is a mandatory benefit for which you are automatically enrolled. Please note that the cost of your CI coverage is paid for by Lifemark and is considered a taxable benefit by the Canada Revenue Agency. The premiums + applicable taxes for your CI coverage will be accounted for on your pay slip and T4 as a taxable benefit.
