| Employees may apply for a STD income benefit if they're totally disabled due to a non-work related illness or injury.
To qualify for an STD benefit, an Employee must be absent from work for 5 days. The Employee must provide confirmation from a treating physician that they have been totally disabled and that they have been seen by a physician during the 5 day qualification period. Benefits are payable on the 6th day of illness, 1st day in the case of injury or hospitalization.
